Does Tesla Have an Unintended Acceleration Problem?

Not even a day has gone by since we reported on a Tesla accident involving unintended acceleration, and now we have another one.  Details are a bit sketchy, but this Tesla was "borrowed" by the owner's son.  He managed to get only 10 yards out of the driveway before accidently accelerating into a tree, causing over $30,000 in damages.

This is all probably just coincidental, and both accidents are likely the driver's fault, but with any new technology there are going to be concerns and more scrunity from the public.  We still believe that Tesla provides the highest level of safety in the event of an accident.
