Description:
A recovery worker stands next to the shattered number 2 engine of N106US after the plane was removed from the Hudson River. On Thursday, January 15, operating as US Flight 1549 from LGA to CLT, the aircraft experienced dual engine failure, believed caused by bird strikes shortly after departing LGA. The flight crew successfully ditched the A320 into the Hudson River and all 155 passengers and crew were successfully rescued.
