A BMW M3 sports car was left wrecked after it crashed at the end of a 26-mile police pursuit. Amazingly the driver walked away without being injured in the smash which left the black vehicle wrecked. It is understood that a patrol first spotted the vehicle on the M6 near Junction 13 Stafford. Police said the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Lincolnshire area and a pursuit began just before 8am. It ended when the BMW which is capable of more than 150 mph crashed at the T3 Junction of the M6 Toll, being left wrecked on an island on the A38 near Bassetts Pole, Sutton Coldfield. The impact left the car wrecked - a front wheel was torn off and the airbags were deployed - and the driver was not hurt. He was found hiding nearby after an hour long search involving police dogs.
