The driver of a high performance sports car fled after crashing into a fence in New Plymouth. A police spokesman said evidence suggested the two-seater vehicle had been airborne at some point before crashing. Debris from the smashed car had to be picked up off the road and all the air bags in the car had been deployed as well. The spokesman said by the time police had arrived the driver had left the scene.
