Ferrari Testarossa
Portland, OR

My car was totalled by the Service Manager of my local Ferrari Dealer. The accident occurred on June 6, 2003 at 8:00 am approximately 10 miles from the dealership on a "test drive" with the car headed toward said dealership. The Service Manager indicated he needed to get out of the way of a Minivan that was gaining on him. Lost control of the car while accelerating on a highway onramp. After receiving my insurance check the Ferrari dealership sent me a bill for nearly $10,000 (ten thousand dollars) for repair work done to my car before they totalled it. This despite my never having taken delivery of the vehicle for the 4 (four) month period they had this car prior to wrecking it. Discussed the entire nightmare with one of the owners of said dealership. He offered to make me a "special deal" on another Ferrari. One can probably guess what happened when I tried to collect on this offer. Whole thing has turned me off on Italian machinery. Much too expensive to maintain and the Service Managers apparently treat vehicles being service "as their own". Now own a Porsche
